Procrastination

My Finals start in six weeks and instead of studying, I’m procrastinating BIG TIME. The weather is amazing (typical study weather, although a bit early) so my mind can’t help but wander and think of Summer: Places I want to go, clothes I want to buy, and things I want to do. And the pictures below are not helping! However, I suppose I can find solace in the fact that in six weeks time I’ll be rid of studying (fingers crossed), will have a degree, and will have the whole Summer ahead of me…

Destination: Dublin

Home from London, where I had a fantastic three days with my boyfriend. I’m pretty chuffed with how much we got done given the little amount of time we had: Chelsea match, Thorpe Park, shopping, The Lion King show, Harrods…and more shopping!

We went to the Champions League Chelsea Vs. Napoli football match (second leg) on our first night in London. It was such a good match…we certainly got value for money - it went to extra time and Chelsea (unexpectedly) won, putting them through to the quarter finals!

We went to Thorpe Park on the second day, and thankfully it was open - it had been closed for the Winter months and re-opened on the day we arrived! Very lucky. We left the house at 11am and didn’t leave Thorpe Park til it was closing (5pm)! Stealth, which goes from 0-80mph in UNDER 2 SECONDS, was by far the best ride of them all. But we didn’t go on it until the end as we had to build up our confidence…look at it!! (in the background of the photo above).

My friend Emma suggested for us to go to this cute little restaurant called Côte in Parsons Green, which is between Chelsea and Fulham. It was so nice and our food was delish. We went here after an eventful day at Thorpe Park.

I LOVE Covent Garden. I wish Dublin had somewhere that resembled it…but unfortunately not. The closest thing to it that I can think of is Powerscourt Centre, which just does not compare. We ate in a lovely Italian restaurant called Bella Italia, then had scones and hot chocolate in Le Pain Quotidien. The hot chocolate had a special touch - the cup was filled with warm frothed milk but came with a jug of chocolate to pour into the cup yourself = amazing.

I can’t even describe how good the Chocolate Bar in Harrods is. I remember going here with my parents years ago, and always wanting to go back - and I finally got to :) People were ordering chocolate martinis and all sorts of desserts. It is quite pricey (it’s Harrods!) but it’s something special to do and so delicious so when in London, make sure to stop off at this place. It’s unreal.

I bought these nail varnishes in Primark. I’m loving pastel colours and neon at the moment and they were obviously such a bargain. LOVE THEM.

Fate

For me, this saying applies to everything in life; even the sad, the bad and the scary. It’s sometimes hard to think this way but in the end, it makes things in life easier to accept.

London Bound

Off to London with my boyfriend next week, and I can’t wait! We’ve got tickets to a Chelsea football match, tickets for The Lion King in the West End, and we’re making another trip to Thorpe Park. Will definitely be getting in a spot of shopping as well (Topshop). I can’t wait to get out of Dublin for a bit, I need a break - Final Year is tough! :(

Accessories

I love accessorising…I sometimes think it is the most important part of the outfit (depending on how bold the outfit is). I absolutely LOVE the Christian Louboutin heels and if paired with an LBD, it would make for an elegantly understated outfit - but with an edge. The blue clutch is also great as it makes quite a statement due to its size, and it injects colour to any neutral ensemble it is coupled with.

Postponed Plans

A big group of us were supposed to be going to Galway City this weekend but unfortunately the plans fell through and it was hard to get everyone together so it’s something to look forward to for after my exams in May!
